Nancy’s Artist Statement

I have a BFA in Visual Design. When you’re a creative person, the sky’s the limit as to what direction you go in next. For instance, in the morning I may create with pen & ink and then take a brisk walk in the fresh air. Then I may be inspired to pack up the easel and the paints and head out to one of my favorite haunts on Canyon Road to paint en plein air… maybe with a few fellow painters, maybe alone. In the midst of all this I will probably snap a few photographs of assorted images that catch my eye. After a few hours in the glorious sunshine under the brim of a well-worn straw hat, I pack my trusty Subaru and head home. As I enter my home, my eye might go to the slant of sunlight across the floor. I smile… I want to savor this vantage point over a simple lunch. The cat saunters over and snuggles beside me for a little while. I am blessed… What’s my next adventure?!
